    ALASKA

  • Alaska Master Plan for Juvenile Corrections
    The Center, in cooperation with Moyer Associates, developed a master plan for juvenile services in Alaska. The plan included residential and community treatment, supervision of youth statewide, and staff, facility, and program needs through the year 2000 plus program design for a five-bed residential facility in Fairbanks, Alaska.



    ARKANSAS

  • A Master Plan for Arkansas' Courts of Juvenile Jurisdiction
    This project developed a design for Arkansas' juvenile justice system including estimated workload, the number of judges, support staff, and probation officers required to operate the court.

  • A Study of Rural Detention Needs in Arkansas
    Three eastern Arkansas counties requested a study of juvenile detention needs in their area because youths were being held in county jails and lock-ups and local officials wanted to comply with the 1985 jail removal requirement of the federal Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act. The Center was responsible for the development of a comprehensive set of recommendations as well as plans for implementation.



    ARIZONA

  • Arizona (Pima County) Calendaring Project and Model Court Evaluation
    After finishing a calendering project for the Pima County Juvenile Court, the Center conducted a formal evaluation of court reform activities around dependency case processing in the Pima County Juvenile Court.

  • Arizona CASA Evaluation
    The Center has contracted with the Arizona Supreme Court to evaluate the effectiveness of CASA. Documentation will proceed of how CASA's are assigned and utilized in five Arizona counties and answer specific questions related to the value of CASA.


  • Arizona Court Improvement Project
    The Center conducted a statewide assessment of the Arizona juvenile court system's handling of dependent, neglect, and abuse cases.


  • Arizona Court Improvement Assessment Four Years Later
    This project revisited and updated a previous report done in 1996 and identified the impact of a series of changes that the state undertook to improve its court processing of dependency cases.


  • Arizona Study of Dually Involved Youth
    Project staff studied issues pertaining to youth who are adjudicated delinquent and dependent in Arizona juvenile courts.

  • Arizona Supreme Court Probation/Risk Need Assessment Project
    The Center developed, tested, and implemented a measurement scale and instrument for a Juvenile Probation Risk, Need, and Case Classification System; provided technical assistance regarding current issues and methods in the field of Juvenile Risk and Needs Assessment and Case Classification; and developed enhancements to the statewide automated information system using software that would allow the classification system to grow.
